Welcome to the world of learning with Short Courses Ireland (SCI). Distance learning is often daunting to most people. The very idea of studying on their own terrifies them. Furthermore, with already so many institutions around the world offering distance learning opportunities, what sets each offering apart?

Below is a brief summary of  what sets us apart from other institutions:

  • SCI is the vocational arm of Warnborough College. As such, it is part of a network of affiliated colleges which together educate tens of thousands of students yearly worldwide through ethical education.
  • We offer over 450 Short Courses, Certificates and Diplomas in different delivery modes (CD, online learning, or by traditional correspondence - paper notes). You are supplied with all the material required to complete your chosen course.
  • You can begin your studies at any time, and work at your own pace. SCI offers short 100 hour courses, right through to higher advanced diplomas (which are around 1200 hours), and everything in between. Generally, a 100 hour course will take less than a year of part time study to complete, while a diploma (600 hours) will take around 6- 9 months if studied full time, or around 2 years if part time.
  • SCI insists on highly qualified tutors, but also require them to have industry experience.  Upon submission of your first assignment you are assigned your tutor. In addition, you have a range of academic staff  who may be contacted by email and phone for guidance during work hours if required.
  • Where practical work is required, you are provided with guidance on how to complete it from wherever you are.
  • Discounts for multiple enrolments, and CD study are available through SCI.
  • SCI students also receive a 10% discount on purchases through our Affiliate Partner School, ACS Online Bookshop!
  • SCI is internationally recognised by the International Accreditation and Recognition Council (IARC).
  • Close industry involvement means many employers sponsor staff through our courses. Some SCI courses are recognised by various institutions and associations worldwide.
  • All SCI students, in addition to the course materials,  receive a Student Handbook, and admittance to the SCI Student Room. Being an AGP affiliate partner,  access includes the ACS Distance Education Online Student Magazine, (which provides opportunity for publishing), Online Library, access to webphotos.com (free personal use of thousands of images while you study with SCI), Student Directory (an online community of ACS students and Affiliates), an Image Re-Sizing Tool, and a Student Noticeboard.

Entry Requirements

Anyone can enrol in a short course. However, some prerequisites apply to higher qualifications i.e. Pre-Medical Diploma and Psychology. The ability to be able to read and write in English is a requirement.

Tutor Support

Our tutors are there to encourage, answer questions, explain sticky points and give you support throughout the course. Unlimited contact via email or phone. You never need feel alone.

Assessment

At the end of each lesson there is an assignment. These are marked and graded by the tutor. Tutor feedback is essential to the learning process. All tutors are qualified and have industry experience.

What's Included

All course materials relevant to the module, unlimited tutor support, and qualification award (e.g. certificate/diploma). There are no other hidden costs or extras.
