Can't find the certificate/diploma your looking for?

Not all educational institutions' certificates or diplomas meet everyone's needs. Sometimes, the course title sounds just right but the course content falls a little off the mark. Sometimes, it is the other way round.

SCI offers you the opportunity to design your own qualification (subject to our approval, of course). Very few colleges will offer you this option. It is, in fact, a very popular option and is widely used by many students. You can choose any combination of subjects offered within the following guidelines:

  1. Enrol in a standard course, individual module, certificate or diploma. The structure of these courses and programs is fully laid down, and students may only need to elect a major area of study. Standard courses are listed throughout the website and handbook.
  2. Design your own Certificate or Diploma. If you have a very specific goal in mind, this gives you the flexibility to put together a program that meets your needs. See below for more information about how to design your own course.

You can choose any combination of subjects offered within the guidelines and discipline of choice. You can start out with one module first, then add other modules as you progress. You do not have to decide up front what modules you wish to be committed to, before you enrol on a program. It is better for you to make a decision on future modules towards the completion of the first module. You will have the chance to get a 'feel' for the subject area and can make a more informed choice - this will of course be subject to SCI approval.

Entry Requirements

Anyone can enrol in a short course. However, some prerequisites apply to higher qualifications i.e. Pre-Medical Diploma and Psychology. The ability to be able to read and write in English is a requirement.

Assessment

At the end of each lesson there is an assignment. These are marked and graded by the tutor. Tutor feedback is essential to the learning process. All tutors are qualified and have industry experience.
